MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – December 3, 2007 5:15 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr. James Deming and Steven DellaGiustina
The Board of Selectmen met with Fire Chief Robert Littlefield, Sr. for an update on the Fire Department. Bob informed the board that Engine 1 had just returned from an emergency repair and that Engine 2 is 17 years old and just failed a pump test. The pump test requirement is 90% and Engine 2 tested 82%. Engine 2 will have to be scheduled for repair which will take approximately 2 weeks. Bob will have to request the towns of Granville and Sandisfield to cover Tolland in case of an emergency. Bob also informed the board that the tanker has frame issues that will have to be addressed.
Tolland’s ISO rating is 9
Eric R. Munson, III will be taking a leave of absence as Police Chief from December 1 to May 1st while attending police training. Sergeant Edwin Deming was appointed as “Officer in Charge” in his absence.
Bids for tree removal were submitted:
Bartlett Tree Experts $4,500.00
Entire Tree Service, LLC $9,500.
Gordon’s Tree Service LLC $8,400
The bid was awarded to Bartlett Tree Experts.
The Board voted to appoint Robert Masalek and Steven DellaGiustina to serve on the Highway/Emergency Complex Committee.
